The cotton material is usually to be used for infant baby socks, kids socks ect. 

What is the difference of cotton and polyester when you wear the socks?

If socks made by cotton, it is friendly for the skin, it is soft, warm and deodorant, even you wear many days, the socks still no bad smell. 

If socks made by polyester, some good material of polyester also soft, but when you wear 1-2 days, the socks have bad smell. Especially in summer season, you will feel stuffy, uncomfortable. However, the cost is very economic compare with cotton. You can throw away it immediately when you are traveling.
